Loans
Loans are available to our students through SLM Financial Corporation,
a Sallie Mae company. These loans will be available throughout your
training and advanced training.
We know for many of you that continuing your education or changing
your career means accessing funds that you may not currently have
- borrowing from parents, using your credit card or taking out a
loan. Some of the points to be aware of about these flexible, low-interest
loans:
- You're able to complete your education paying only interest
on your loan. Funds can be dispersed at the beginning of each
portion of the training, so you're only paying interest on the
dollars received so far, instead of the entire loan amount. Principle
isn't due until you've completed your classes and become a certified
Rolfer®.
- Interest rates are as low as prime + 1% and fees start at 2%;
using a tiered schedule your current credit record will determine
the exact interest rate.
- Borrow from a minimum of $1,000 up to the total cost of your
Rolfing® tuition. Additional funds are also available for
education-related expenses (up to 60% of the tuition amount, not
to exceed $6,000).
- You can take up to 15 years to repay your loan, therefore keeping
your payments low. Once you've finished your training and your
earnings increase, you can choose to prepay your loan - with no
prepayment penalties, thereby reducing the cost of your loan.
- After making six consecutive, on-time payments, you may apply
to defer up to two monthly payments per year. Approval is at SLM
Financial's discretion.
- If your credit history is weak or nonexistent, this is an opportunity
to improve it by paying off this educational loan. You can qualify
for a loan by applying with a creditworthy co-borrower. Once you
make 24 payments on time and meet the minimum co-borrower release
credit requirements, you may apply to release your co-borrower.
- Because of the credit-based pricing, there is flexibility with
rates and terms you can afford. With SLM's approval rates of over
75% for their education and training loans, you have a good chance
of being approved.
- Unfortunately at this time, all applicants and co-borrowers
must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
- It's easy to apply and the approval process is quick. Speak
with Heather Walls, our Admissions Counselor at (800) 803-1952
for the details on how to apply.
