Description: The Advanced Training teaches ways to work beyond
established protocols and to design sessions to meet individual clients´ needs.
Students will reinforce and deepen their basic structural
integration skills through exploration of recent developments
in our work and refinement of touch.
Sally´s Advanced Training will emphasize:
Principle-based decision-making.
An integrated and holistic approach to the mobilization
of major articulations within the Rolfing context.
Evaluation of the whole person through the structural,
geometric, functional, psychobiological and energetic
taxonomies.
A broad spectrum of touching, including indirect
and energetic techniques, that permits more ease and
greater precision.
Sally Klemm has practiced Rolfing® Structural Integration
and craniosacral work in Hawaii since 1986. Because Sally
values each student´s unique inner learning style,
her students gain self-knowledge as well as technical
knowledge, and emerge as more efficient, effective and
empowered practitioners.
Gael Ohlgren trained with Ida Rolf in 1969. In her
practice, Gael engages the client in her creative weaving
of functional insights into the fabric of structural
change.
Lael Keen joined the Rolf Institute Faculty in 1995.
Lael seeks to help clients to address the patterns that
limit not only their bodies, but their entire beings.
Description: When speaking of the shoulder girdle, one must speak
as well of the many elements which help to determine its
structure and function—the ribcage, the thoracic
inlet and the spine, along with the functions of orientation
and support that determine not only it’s placement
but it’s movement. In an area of the body where so
many different levels intersect, it is easy for confusion
to develop and confusion can translate as pain, restriction
and tension.
In the movements of reaching, holding, bringing towards
or pushing away, the line between anatomy, biomechanics
and object relations gets blurred. The way we touch our
clients or pick up a cup has an intimate connection to
the way that we relate to others and the way that we
perceive ourselves in the world.
In this workshop we will work with Tonic Function theory,
and the biomechanics of the shoulder girdle in movement.
We will learn through a mixture of theory and practice.
Different movement explorations will be taught and practiced,
so that participants may experience in their own bodies
that which we are learning and we will study diverse
ways to integrate these explorations into our work with
our clients.
Lael Katharine Keen is a Rolfing® and
Rolf Movement Integration Teacher for the Rolf Institute.
She has studied with Hubert Godard since 2000. She
also teaches Somatic Experiencing (Peter Levine’s
trauma work) for the Foundation for Human Enrichment,
and has studied and taught Ki-Aikido for the last 33
years. She is fascinated with movement and the process
through which each of us becomes more truly ourselves
through uncovering the movement which is our most intrinsic
and authentic potential.

Description:
Sponsors:Erchonia Corporation in conjunction with The Rolf Institute® of Structural
Integration and International Association of Structural Integrators®.
The Rolf Institute, IASI, Erchonia Corporation and Certified
Advanced Rolfer’s™ Mark Hutton and Jonathan
Martine are very proud to announce this workshop designed
for Rolfers and those in the field of Structural Integration.
This class is a beginning, introductory class for those
who have always wondered about laser-assisted structural
integration practices and currently do not use a laser
in your practice. The workshop is built on the
definition, exploration and evolution of the work of
Dr. Ida Rolf; especially as those categories are more
precisely defined with the new and exciting discoveries
in the field of neurophysiology as it relates to every
aspect of structural integration.
You will receive abundant information and clinical evidence
about the role of the Erchonia Low Level Cold Laser as
it relates to the often misunderstood role of neurophysiology
in the structural integration concepts of gravity-neutral
form and gravity-efficient function. What you will
learn, we believe, will change your ideas about the highest
level of achievement in a ten-series.
Your instructors are Jonathan Martine and Mark Hutton
(Certified Advanced Rolfers) and
Dr. Jerome Rerucha,
DC.
Jonathan Martine has
been a certified Rolfer for over 15 years with advanced
certification for more than 10 years. He is a well known teacher
and probably has taken more advanced continuing education
classes that anyone else in the business. Mr. Martine
has been Chair of the Faculty at the Rolf Institute of
Structural Integration in Boulder, CO and has been an
instructor in their Certification program since 1993. His
professional experience includes work in private practice
and collaboration with Medical Doctors, Physical Therapists

This 9 day workshop fulfills 50% of the requirements for the
Advanced Training: 3 structural, 3 movement & 3 cranial-sacral credits.
In order to access and perceive inherent motion in
our clients, we have to rest into that reality within
ourselves. Doing so cultivates the ability to sense and
interact with the subtle forces and shifts within our
clients.
The goal of the functional work will be to integrate
the orienting capacity of a 3-fold dynamic: our vestibular
system, our perception of our kinesphere and our experience
of our ground.
The structural work will focus on integration through
an understanding and application of the inherent logic
of the 10 series. Special focus will be given to the
7 th session and cranial dynamics.
In order to achieve an integration that addresses the
whole person, it is necessary to perceive and honor the
system’s self-organizing intelligence, which is
accessed through receptivity to the subtle wisdom of
the body.
Class activities will include: lectures, demonstrations,
practicums and an exchange of a post-ten 5 session series.
Integrative Strategies for Structural Integration
Presents Visceral
and Neural Fascial Mobilization for the Core
Dates/Times:
May 3-6, 2010, 9AM-5PM
Course
Number:
AW6.10
Instructor(s):
Bruce Schonfeld and Jon Martine
Cost:
$775 (early registration $725 paid in full by April 1, (limited to 20 participants)
This class offers a fascial anatomy approach to visceral and neural mobilization. When the body has visceral or nerve fascia that is restricted and fails to glide, the entire system becomes pre-occupied. Reducing this “pre-occupation” is necessary for reducing pain and restoring optimal function. Through precise manipulations of the fascia and membranes associated with the thoracic, abdominal, and pelvic cavities, the visceral and neural systems will achieve a higher order of physical equipoise. Particular attention will be paid to the relationships between the bones and membranes(pleura, diaphragm, peritoneum, endo-thoracic and pelvic floor).
With an emphasis towards clinical applications, we will explore through lecture, palpation and hands-on exchange:
• Powerful manipulation skills to take your practice to the next level.
• Visual and palpatory assessment skills to evaluate for mobility, symmetry, and tone.
• How neurogenic inflammation and impaired visceral and nerve mobility restrict movement of fascia, joints and core stability.
• New approaches to tissue and joint mobilization.
• Integrative structural strategies for lasting change, from local restriction to global function.
• Decompression and mobilization techniques designed to compliment your current skills and improve your effectiveness with tricky clients.
Jonathan Martine is a Certified Advanced Rolfer since 1990, Registered Movement Therapist, and Rolf Institute® Faculty member since 1993. Jonathan draws from the work of Jean-Pierre Barral and Alain Crobier, DO’s, Australian PT’s, David Butler, Michael Shacklock, Don Hazen, Chiropractor/Rolfer and Chiropractor/Neurologist Dr. Michael Allen in a synthesis of nerve related work.
Bruce Schonfeld is a Certified Advanced Rolfer and Rolf Movement Practitioner. A dedicated student, originally Certified in 1994, he has studied diverse movement integration modalities and taken the Advanced Rolfing Training 3 times. Inspired by over 600 hours sculpting anatomy in clay and doing gross dissection, he has developed a "systems" anatomy approach to fascial manipulation. A long time Teaching Assistant for the Barral Institute, he has vigorously studied Visceral Manipulation since 1997, including over 300 hours directly with Jean-Pierre Barral D.O. since 2001. He has taught Structural Integration, Body Analysis and Integrated Manual Therapies since 1996. With an emphasis on the membranous interface between the container and it's contents he's developed Structural-Visceral & Structural-Craniosacral coursework. His philosophy is to meet the body on it's own terms.
An Energetic Foundation for Rolfing: A bridge between Dr. Rolf's recipe and the wisdom of each individual's body
Dates/Times:
May 10-16, 2010
Course
Number:
AW2.10
Instructor(s):
Bob Schrei / Ray McCall
Cost:
$780 (limited to 20 participants) Only
two spots left!
Description: In this 6-day workshop we will explore an integration
of the goals of Dr. Rolf’s work, and an energetic
approach, which is simple, accessible, and effective.
The approach, SourcePoint Therapy developed by Bob Schrei,
aligns and relates a person’s physical body to
the energetic blueprint that Dr. Rolf referred to in
her book, “Structural Integration”. Utilizing
a body scanning technique, we locate blockages, discontinuities,
which result in global patterns of dysfunction and compensation.
Also, The scan informs the questions: “Where do
we start”, “where do we go next” and “When
are we done.” This information enables a practitioner
to reliably optimize the strategy of a session, be it
a basic ten series or a non-formulaic advanced series.
In the workshop participants will exchange a non-formulaic
three series.
Bob Schrei is a Certified Advanced Rolfer with 22 years
experience, an artist and former Zen teacher. http://sourcepointtherapy.com for

Ray McCall is a Certified Advanced Rolfer with 30 years
experience and teaches Basic and Advanced classes in
the United States, Europe and Japan.

Description: According
to the world average, the human being breathes 25,920 times
per day. The repetitive movement of the breath is one of
the most influential elements that there is in both human structure
and function. In this 10 day workshop we will explore the
breath from many different points of view.
We will learn to interact with the breath in ways that
do not involve willing or forcing—working with acts
of attention and allowing as opposed to acts of tension.
Topics Covered
Physiology and Biomechanics of Breathing
Specific Non-Functional breathing patterns and their
effects on structure
Trauma and the Breath
Orienting and the Breath
Core Stability and the Breath
Interventions that aid structural work and interventions
that touch into the functional and world view layers
of the client’s body/being.

Description: Pregnancy not only brings big changes in the personal
life of a woman, but also her body has to undergo big
changes. Hormonal changes, and of course changes in the
structure of her body. The increasing weight of the baby
and the surrounding structures lead to enormous adaptations,
not only in the pelvic area, but in the whole body including
arms and shoulders. Many pregnant women suffer from sciatic
pains, lower back pain, cramps in the legs, neck pain,
carpal tunnel syndrome and many others. Also the delivery
including cuts, cesarians and other injuries have an
enormous impact on the women’s bodies. Coming back
to balance after all this, the female body undergoes
different stages and typical adaptations.
In this workshop
we will learn
• What are the normal stages a pregnant women goes
through
• Typical strain patterns and difficulties / structural
problems that can occur
• How we can help women to prepare for an easy
delivery from a structural and functional point of
view
• Structural and functional problems that can
occur after delivery / cesarian including typical strain
patterns
• Safe techniques that match the special needs
of pregnant women and young mothers
Helping women to
get well through pregnancy, delivery and coming back
to balance afterwards can be a very heart-warming
and rewarding enterprise for Rolfers.

Description: Trauma leaves a profound mark on the bodies and
spirits of our clients.
In this workshop we will learn
about the physiology of trauma, how it affects our Rolfing
clients, and how to work with stuck traumatic energies
in the body.
What are some common signs that may indicate that your
client has unresolved trauma?
• Patterns of neuromuscular
tension that do not yield to manipulation techniques.
• A
history of physical or psychological trauma.
• The
client is tense and wirey and unable to relax or let
down.
• The client has flaccid, unresponsive musculature.
• Chronic
pain
• The client is unable to let you touch certain
areas of his or her body.
• The client is dissociated
from his body and unable to feel the effects of the Rolfing
sessions.
• Spatial disorientation (the client tends
to not know the boundaries of his body and frequently
trips and bumps into the objects that surround him)
As we work together, we will apply knowledge and techniques
from Somatic Experiencing® (Peter Levine’s
somatic-based approach to treating Post-Traumatic Stress)
to Rolfing.
Topics covered
• How the physiology of trauma
works
• How to recognize trauma in our client.
• How
to track unresolved traumatic energies in the body and
help them to release.
• Touch techniques for working
with trauma generated patterns of hyper and hypo tension.
• How
trauma distorts our capacity to orient.
• How to
recognize and help release trauma generated orienting
patterns.
• Release of the deep, intrinsic musculature
of the spine through accessing and restoring Orienting
Response..
The techniques and practices that we will use will be easily
applicable to Rolfing and Rolfing Movement
Integrating the Upper Pole: shoulder girdle, arms and hands Interaction of the upper pole with breathing and contralateral
walking
Description: The combined Rolfing SI and Rolf Movement Integration
workshop is addressed only to Rolfers; 4 days of practical,
theorical and experiential work from the Rolfing and
Rolfing Movement perspective. How mis-coordination, restrictions
in the tissue and psychobiological aspects can create
discomfort in the whole person.
