Structural Integration
The Rolf Institute of Structural Integration is
the only school, whether in the United States or worldwide, that
trains Rolfers™ and Rolf Movement Practitioners™. Certified
Rolfers are the only professionals who can provide Rolfing® to
the public.
RISI's high standard for candidates, students-in-training, and Rolfers are reflected in its Code of Ethics, Standards of Practice, and continuing education trainings.

integration and the useful and beneficial nature of Rolfing

History
Established in 1971, RISI is a nonprofit corporation, organized
and existing under the laws of California and Colorado. Recognized
by the U.S. Government as a tax-exempt, educational and scientific
research organization, RISI is headquartered in Boulder, Colorado,
and periodically sponsors additional trainings in other locations.
RISI has five international licensees that independently offer
programs compatible with trainings sponsored in the U.S. They
are located in Germany, Japan, Australia, Brazil and Canada.
Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation
(COMTA)
Important information: The Rolf Institute
Rolf Program is accredited by The Commission on Massage Therapy
Accreditation. In order to graduate from an accredited program
all three class of the program must be attended at the Rolf Institute
in Boulder, CO. International school programs are not accredited
by COMTA.
Research
Rolfing has been the subject of research at major universities, including UCLA and The University of Maryland, where studies have been conducted that document the positive physical and emotional effects of the work. For more research related information on Rolfing click here.
Service Mark
In 1979, the United States Patent Office granted service mark rights
for the word Rolfing® to The Rolf Institute of Structural Integration,
distinguishing Rolfing from all other forms of structural integration.
RISI is the sole owner of the trademark Rolfing®, the brand
and all its derivatives.
