Position Summary

The Development & Fundraising Specialist supports DIRI’s strategic fundraising priorities by cultivating donor relationships and generating philanthropic revenue aligned with the Institute’s strategic plan.

This is a part-time position, up to 20 hours per week, offering a guaranteed hourly wage at or above Colorado minimum wage, plus performance-based bonus compensation tied to funds raised.

The position is classified as non-exempt under applicable federal and Colorado wage laws.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners
  • Build and manage a fundraising pipeline aligned with DIRI’s strategic priorities
  • Conduct donor outreach via meetings, calls, written proposals, and events
  • Collaborate with leadership on approved campaigns and initiatives
  • Track donor engagement and fundraising activity in reporting systems
  • Assist with donor stewardship and recognition
  • Represent DIRI with professionalism and ethical integrity

  • Demonstrated experience in fundraising, development, sales, or revenue generation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Compensation Structure

Base Pay

  • Hourly wage starting at $16.82 hr
  • Paid twice per month on the 15th, and the last day of the month
  • Up to 20 hours per week

Overtime will be paid in accordance with federal and Colorado law if applicable.

Paid Sick Leave

In accordance with the Colorado Healthy Families & Workplaces Act (HFWA):

  • Paid sick leave accrues at one (1) hour for every thirty (30) hours worked.
  • Accrued leave may be used in accordance with Colorado law and DIRI policy.
  • Accrual caps and carryover provisions will comply with applicable state requirements.
