In this presentation, I aim to highlight the nature and scope of the psychobiological perspective within Rolfing®, both from a historical standpoint and in contemporary practice. I will explore the emergence of studies and research on the autonomic nervous system (ANS) as a somatic approach and discuss how Rolfers™ can incorporate these insights to enhance their work. Additionally, I wish to draw attention to the subjective domain inherent in the paradigm we operate from, and offer strategies for integrating this aspect using a psychobiological lens.
By acknowledging its role in personal integration with the assessment of various other taxonomies, we can improve both the quality and competence of our practice.
